Bay Area School Play, Drama & Performing Arts Video Production

From opening night nerves to the final standing ovation, a school play, musical, or concert represents months of rehearsals, set building, and dedication by students and teachers. Since 1985, CA&C Video Productions has helped Bay Area schools, drama departments, and families preserve their most important milestones. Whether you need a multi-camera recording of a high school musical, a live stream for extended family, or digital keepsakes for parents, our team delivers broadcast-quality stage capture across the San Francisco Bay Area.

Why Hire a Specialized Theater Videographer for Your School Play?

Multi-Camera Stage Coverage (Wide Archival + Dynamic Close-Ups)

Filming a live theater production with a single stationary camera in the back row misses facial expressions, comedic timing, and emotional solos. We deploy a multi-camera setup that combines a locked wide master angle (capturing full stage choreography and set design) with manned close-up cameras that track lead actors, soloists, and dialogue across the stage. During post-production, we switch seamlessly between angles so viewers feel like they have a front-row seat.

Direct Soundboard Audio + Stage Microphone Integration

Audio is the biggest challenge in school auditoriums and multi-purpose rooms. Relying on a camera's built-in microphone results in distant voices, room echo, and audience noise. At CA&C Video Productions, we coordinate directly with your school’s tech crew to capture a clean XLR audio feed straight from your theater soundboard (wireless lavaliers and handheld mics), blended with dedicated stage boundary and ambient microphones to capture live band/orchestra accompaniment and applause naturally.

Low-Light Cinema Cameras Built for Stage Spotlights

Theatrical lighting changes rapidly from dim, moody scenes to intense spotlights. Consumer cameras and phones automatically overexpose actors' faces under stage lights, turning them into washed-out silhouettes. Our camera operators use professional low-light sensors with manual exposure and color grading calibrated specifically for stage lighting.

What Performing Arts Events Do We Film?
